2014
On June 23, 2014, Wilbert Wester stands at the door of the Chamber of Commerce in Zwolle. He is about to register ‘TransportingWheels B.V.’ An important moment. A moment that will shape the future of many current colleagues, as well as our customers and transport partners. Wilbert has a simple goal: to make booking car transport as easy as ordering a pizza. A great mission. From that day on, car transport in Europe would never be the same.
2015
More than six months of hard work in the attic pays off on January 16, 2015, with an unforgettable moment: the first transport order is placed. The champagne is popped, and the first customer experiences a fast transport. Hundreds of thousands of orders will follow. At that time, Transporting Wheels transports anything with wheels. The focus on car transport comes later.
2018
Transporting Wheels receives significant reinforcements: financially, with a number of great colleagues, and with a beautiful office in IJsselmuiden. The foundation is laid for what we now call our ‘portal.’ We begin simplifying the complex processes involved in vehicle logistics. Making complex things simple is in our DNA.
2019
Customers and partners are very positive about the value Transporting Wheels adds to their business. After all, arranging transport yourself can take up an entire day. Transport partners are enthusiastic because we are a reliable source of additional revenue. In short, we are on the rise. The team grows with new colleagues.
2022
We are ready to enter the German market, the largest car transport market in Europe. In the sunny spring of 2022, we open our office in Cologne. Growth forces us to focus more. In June, we decide to concentrate entirely on car transport. Meanwhile, the headquarters in IJsselmuiden becomes increasingly busy. The team is strengthened with specialists in marketing, sales, and IT. The number of transport orders more than doubles. We celebrate the Christmas party this year with fifteen enthusiastic colleagues.
2023
After the Netherlands and Germany, we now fully launch in France. The French team successfully conveys the simplicity of our service. This appeals to both smaller dealers and large car companies. Rapid growth means rapid expansion. In IJsselmuiden, we are almost bursting at the seams. At the end of the year, we move with 34 colleagues to the spacious building on Hanzelaan in Zwolle. A fantastic location, right behind the station, with plenty of room for growth, a game room, and our own bar. Transport orders rise sharply again this year. As the icing on the cake, we are named FD Gazelle 2023, making us one of the fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands.
2024
The appointment of CEO Maarten Klanderman heralds a new era. His arrival does not bring a gentle spring breeze, but a strong, persistent wind that continuously steers us in the right direction. We further improve our processes, grow to 60 colleagues, double the number of transport orders again, become FD Gazelle 2024, strengthen our focus on sustainability, and achieve ISO 9001 and 27001 certifications.
2025
New name, same mission: TransportingWheels becomes TransConnect! We trade our old identity for a fresh, modern look that suits us perfectly. What doesn’t change? Our dedicated team, excellent service, and drive to make car transport easier. The year starts well with our nomination for FD Gazelle International 2025.
