How is the condition of my vehicle recorded before transport?
At the time of pickup, the carrier photographs the vehicle and documents its visible condition on the CMR. This record serves as the reference point for any damage that may be identified at delivery.
The CMR signed at pickup is compared with the CMR signed at delivery to determine whether any damage occurred during transport. This is why it is essential that both the pickup and delivery inspections are carried out carefully and that all pre-existing damage is noted on the CMR at pickup.
