What can I do to prevent damage during transport?

The most effective thing you can do is ask the seller for photos of the vehicle's condition before the transport takes place. Having a clear visual record of the vehicle's state before pickup makes it much easier to establish whether any damage occurred during transport, and helps avoid disputes during the claims process.

You should also ensure that all pre-existing damage is noted on the CMR at the time of pickup, and that the vehicle is inspected carefully at delivery before the CMR is signed.
