What is fault freight?

Fault freight is a charge that applies when the carrier arrives at the agreed pickup location on the agreed date and time, but the transport cannot take place — in full or in part — due to circumstances attributable to or within the risk of the customer. It compensates the carrier for the wasted journey and associated costs.

Fault freight is separate from waiting time charges and applies when the collection cannot take place at all, rather than simply being delayed.
