When did the Dutch truck toll come into effect?
The Dutch truck toll came into effect on 1 July 2026. From that date, all lorries with a maximum authorised weight of more than 3,500 kg driving on Dutch roads are subject to the per-kilometre charge — including vehicles registered outside the Netherlands. The charge replaces the previous Eurovignette system and partially offsets road tax (MRB) and heavy vehicle tax (BZM).
